SUBJECT: 1ST AND 2ND GEAR AND HUB REPLACEMENT PARTS

When overhauling any 1980 through 1984 vehicle equipped with a manual transmission, refer to the chart below for the proper replacement parts for the 1st and 2nd gear and hub sets, and 1st and 2nd synchronizer rings:

NOTE: BE CERTAIN TO CHECK THE APPLICABILITY COLUMN (TRANS. # AND PRODUCTION PERIOD) BELOW, TO IDENTIFY WHICH TRANSMISSION PARTS YOU SHOULD BE USING.

*Both new style mating transmission parts must be used when replacing either one of the original mating transmission parts.

**When replacing the original reverse driven gear with a new style 1st-2nd gear and hub set (P/N 32218AA010), on any manual transmission vehicle produced from the start of 1980 production and ending on September 15, 1982, with Transmission #999165, the original 1st and 2nd gear synchronizer rings must also be replaced with the new style 1st and 2nd gear synchro rings (P/N 3418330130).


NOTE: WHEN INSTALLING THE NEW STYLE REVERSE DRIVEN GEAR ONTO THE NEW STYLE 1ST-2ND GEAR HUB, THE WHITE PAINT MARKS ON BOTH COMPONENTS MUST BE LINED UP.
