4 WHEEL DRIVE TROUBLESHOOTING

The following symptoms apply to 4 wheel drive models only. Refer to ``2 & 4 Wheel Drive Troubleshooting'' for symptoms common to 2 & 4 wheel drive models.

SLIP WHEN STARTING IN 4 WHEEL DRIVE

1. Transfer valve, transfer pipe, rear drive shaft seal ring.

DIFFERENTIAL GEAR OIL IS CONTAMINATED WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID

1. Leak in hydraulic system.
2. Drive pinion rear oil seal.
3. Governor shaft oil seal.
4. Stator shaft and reduction gear oil seal and O-rings.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID CONTAMINATED WITH DIFFERENTIAL GEAR OIL

1. Drive pinion rear oil seal.
2. Governor shaft oil seal.
3. Stator shaft and reduction gear oil seal and O-ring.

LOUD NOISE WHEN RUNNING IN 3
