Hubcap - Retention Clip Information

SUBJECT: HUBCAP RETENTION CLIP
Two styles of the small plastic hubcap are now available P/N 23832GA160, (Light Gray) And P/N 23832GA161, (Dark Gray).

For better retention of the hubcap, a clip is available under Part
Number: SPS 238 040.


To install this retainer clip on either hubcap:


1) Remove the hubcap.

2) Select a closed end lug nut lock on the lock ring of the hubcap. (See Figure 1).
3) Drill a 4 mm hole, 9 mm from the upper edge of the locking ring, and 13.5 mm to the right of the die cast line located at the open end of the lug nut lock.

NOTE: SOME HUBCAPS MAY HAVE A PRE-DRILLED HOLE FOR INSTALLING THE RETAINER CLIP.

4) Using the 4 mm x 10 mm bolt, lock washer, flat washer and the 4 mm nut supplied in the retainer kit, secure the retainer with the clip portion facing the lug nut lock and tighten the screw. (See Figure 2).
5) Install the hubcap onto the wheel and turn it clockwise until you feel the retainer clip click into place around the lug nut.

6) To remove a hubcap, insert a straight blade screwdriver into a slot and pry off. (See Figure 3).

C 104-105 Any additional wheel
