Idle Contact

1. Insert thickness gauge between stopper screw of throttle chamber and stopper, Fig. 43, and check for continuity between connector terminals A and B.
2. Ensure terminals A and B are conducting when throttle is fully closed.
3. Ensure terminals A and B are not conducting when throttle is fully open.
4. Ensure terminals A and B are conducting when thickness of gauge is .0122 inch, corresponding to throttle opening of 1°.
5. Ensure terminals A and B are not conducting when thickness of gauge is .0311 inch, corresponding to throttle opening of 2.5°.
6. If desired results are not obtained, loosen two throttle sensor to throttle chamber attaching screws and turn throttle sensor main body until correct adjustment is obtained. If correct adjustment cannot be obtained, replace throttle sensor.
