Water Leak - At Rear of Vehicle

APPLICABILITY
ALL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIR SUSPENSION

SUBJECT:
MOISTURE ENTERING THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE

THIS BULLETIN IS FOR INFORMATION ONLY

If you encounter moisture in the trunk area, it may be caused by a gap at the grommet where the air suspension wiring harness is routed. Sealing the grommets will prevent moisture from entering the vehicle.

Materials Needed: One tube of silicone sealer

THE PROCEDURE FOR SEALING THE AIR SUSPENSION REAR WIRING GROMMETS

1) Remove both rear wheels and air shock mud guards.





2) Apply silicone sealer on the grommets. See Figure 1.

3) Re-install mud guards and wheels.

These grommets have been sealed since February 25, 1986 starting with the following vin's:

4 Door 237723 AND ON
Station Wagon 447533 AND ON
XT Coupe 314916 AND ON
