SUBJECT: TROUBLE SHOOTING TIPS FOR ACCESSORY AIR CONDITION (3SPD. AND 4EAT EQUIPPED MODELS)
If you encounter an accessory A/C system that does not operate after installation, check the following locations to ensure a shorting loop exists before extensive troubleshooting and parts replacing:
(Example: After charging the A/C system the technician presses the A/C button and turns the blower fan speed to the highest position and the A/C compressor clutch does not engage.)
Repair Procedure for Missing Shorting Loops
^ Locate the connector and the wires identified in the chart above.
^ Using a "Scotch Lok" connector or equivalent, connect both wires together to complete the circuit.
^ Further diagnosis may be necessary if the system does not operate after shorting loop connection verification. Consult the applicable Subaru Service Manual.
