Functional Test

1. Using a stethoscope or a long screwdriver, check fuel injector for operation. If fuel injector is operating properly a clicking sound will be heard.
2. If clicking sound cannot be heard, proceed as follows:
a. Disconnect battery positive terminal.
b. Disconnect electrical connector from EGI control unit.
c. Using a suitable ohmmeter, measure resistance between check connector IV and battery positive terminal. Resistance should be 2-3 ohms.
d. If resistance value obtained is not as specified, replace injector(s).
3. Using a suitable voltmeter, measure voltage at check connector IV side. Voltmeter should indicate 12 volts on control unit side and 12 volts at battery side.
4. If voltage obtained is not as specified, check and/or replace fusible link or harness electrical connector.
