SUBJECT: SUNROOF MOTOR TORQUE ADJUSTMENT

Use the following information to correct the 1987 Subaru Service Manual, Section 5-1, Body and Exterior, Page 76, under the heading "Checking for Movement of Sunroof Lid Assembly Using Motor". The sunroof lid "PULL" torque measurement value is incorrect, the correct torque measurement value is:
Sunroof Lid "PULL"
50 - 60 kg.cm. (23 - 28 Ft.Lbs.)
The Lid "PULL" Torque Value has been increased from 50 kg.cm. (23 Ft. Lbs.) to 60 kg. cm. (28 Ft. Lbs.) in production since February, 1987, to increase the sunroof closing force.
