Regulator Cable Tension Adjustment

FIGURE 7:

1. Align the center of the stake on the slide with the center of the two pulleys on the rail assembly. See Figure 7.

FIGURE 8:

2. Attach a spring scale to the cable directly across from the spring holder. See Figure 8.

FIGURE 9:

3. With the regulator assembly laying flat, pull up on the spring scale so the cable lifts off of the slide rail approximately 1/4". Record the amount of force measured by the spring scale and compare it to the specified initial tension of 5.5 lbs. See Figure 9.

FIGURE 10:

4. To adjust the cable tension to the proper specification loosen the locking nut on the electric motor winder bracket and turn the adjuster nut clockwise to relieve tension and counter clockwise to increase it. See Figure 10.

FIGURE 11:

5. After adjusting the cable to the proper tension tighten the lock nut to 8 ft.lbs. to secure the cable adjuster.

6. Reinstall the electric motor using the three phillips retaining screws.

NOTE: Make sure to transfer the original cable securing clip to the new cable. See Figure 11.
