Float Chamber Ventilation (Fcv) Solenoid

PURPOSE
Opens and closes a passage between the carburetor float chamber and the canister.

Engine Compartment Electrical Components:

LOCATION
On the firewall.

OPERATION
When the ignition is at ON or START, the solenoid is energized and closes the vacuum hose connecting the float chamber and the canister. When the key is OFF, the solenoid opens the passage between the float chamber and the canister. This prevents fuel vapor discharge into the atmosphere.
