Removal/Installation

1. Disconnect battery negative cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove front wheels.
4. Disconnect tie-rod ends from steering knuckles.
5. Remove steering shaft universal joint to steering gear pinch bolt.
6. Disconnect exhaust pipe from manifold.
7. Remove 4 steering gear mounting bolts.
8. Withdraw steering gear toward pinion side until shaft disengages torque rod universal joint, then rotate steering gear rearward and remove from vehicle.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten bolts and nuts to specifications.
