Lubrication

(1) System Oil Stabilization

Prior to opening the refrigerant system for repairs (except compressor seizure) the system must be stabilized for correct ail replenishment.

Follow these procedures:

1) Start engine and allow to reach operating temperature

2) Engine speed set to 1500 RPM

3) A/C "on"

4) Air source to recirculate

5) Blower 4th or high speed position

a) make sure the air entering the evaporator is above 80F

b) the discharge (high) side pressure must be above 85 psi

6) Operate the A/C for 10 minutes

7) Turn engine off

(2) System Discharge

Slowly, discharge the system starting with the high side until the pressure drops below 50 psi, then open the low side.

(3) Oil Replenishment

After stabilization and discharge, replace the component and add the appropriate amount of oil (D90PX) to the new component before installation:

Evaporator 2.8 ounces

Receiver Drier .2 ounces

Condenser 1.5 ounces

Hose .2 ounces

If the compressor is replaced (after stabilization):

1) Drain and measure the oil from the original compressor.

2) Drain the oil from the replacement compressor and refill with the same amount that was drained from the original (3 ounces minimum. Always use D90PX for replacement oil.

If the compressor was seized:

1) Clean system

2) Replace receiver drier

3) Install new compressor with shipping ail charge (7.9 fluid ounces).
