Restraint Systems

1. Inspect front sensor as follows:
a. Disconnect connectors AB4 and AB5 from airbag control unit.
b. Connect connectors AB4 and AB5 to 8B of test harness B.
c. For RH front sensor, measure resistance between test harness B connector 5B terminals 17 and 18. Resistance should be 14000-16000 ohms.
d. For LH front sensor, measure resistance between test harness B connector 5B terminals 15 and 16. Resistance should be 14000-16000 ohms.
2. Inspect airbag main harness as follows:
a. Disconnect connector AB6 from airbag control unit.
b. Connect connector AB6 to connector 8B of test harness B.
c. Connect battery ground cable, then turn ignition switch On (engine Off).
d. Measure voltage across test harness B connector 5B terminal 1 and ground. Voltage should be 1 volt maximum.
e. Measure voltage across test harness B connector 5B terminal 14 and ground. Voltage should be 1 volt maximum.
3. Inspect roll connector as follows:
a. Disconnect connector AB6, then turn ignition switch Off.
b. Connect test harness C connector 1C to roll connector harness AB7, then turn ignition switch On (engine Off).
c. Measure voltage across test harness C connector 3C terminal 2 and ground. Voltage should be 1 volt maximum.
d. Measure voltage across test harness C connector 3C terminal 5 and ground. Voltage should be 1 volt maximum.
e. Measure voltage across test harness C connector 3C terminal 6 and ground. Voltage should be 1 volt maximum.
