Gear Sensor/Switch: Description and Operation

Neutral Switch Circuit:

PURPOSE
Informs the ECU when transaxle is in neutral.

LOCATION
On transaxle case, operated by shift fork rod.

OPERATION
When the transaxle is shifted into neutral, the shift fork allows the neutral switch to close. When the switch closes, it completes a path to ground, signaling the ECU that the transaxle is in neutral.
