Service Bulletin Number 16-36-90, dated 2/26/90, describes a field fix for 4EAT slow engagement caused by torque converter drain down.

This Bulletin also gives information for a production change starting with Transmission Number 136395 which eliminates torque converter drain down.

Installation of the field fix kit into a transmission which already has the production modification, will severely restrict fluid flow and cause severe damage to the transmission components.

Make sure you check the transmission number before installing the field fix kit. Damage to the transmission caused by this improper repair is not a matter for Warranty.
