Evaporative Emissions System: Description and Operation

Evaporative Emission Control System:

PURPOSE
The evaporative emission control system (EVAP) prevents evaporative fuel from being released into the atmosphere.

OPERATION
Fuel vapors from the tank are routed to the canister through the evaporation line and are absorbed in activated carbon. The two-way valve and rollover valve are incorporated in the vapor line between tank and canister. Fuel vapors are purged from the canister when the ECU signals the purge control solenoid valve to open.

CONSTRUCTION
The system includes a canister, two-way valve, fuel seperator, rollover valve, purge control solenoid valve and various connecting lines
