SUBJECT: LEGACY CRUISE CONTROL INSTALLATION 91MY MANUAL TRANSMISSION





Installation of a Subaru Cruise Control Kit B7010GA001 into a 1991 Legacy "L" model with manual transmission, requires modified procedures from those supplied in the kit. These procedures are described below.

The wiring logic of the vehicle harness has been modified on 1991 vehicles. This change eliminates the need for the clutch relay. The clutch disconnect function is accomplished through the clutch switch on 1991 manual transmission Legacy vehicles. Wiring connector B83 (4 Pin) referred to in step E-6 and the schematic is not equipped in the vehicle harness for 1991.

Therefore, the clutch relay should not be connected. We recommend removing this relay from the bracket prior to kit installation. This will prevent confusion during later servicing.

NOTE: The clutch relay must be connected on 1990 vehicles.
