Airbag Warning Light Does Not Illuminate
1. Inspect fuse No. 15 as follows:a. Turn ignition switch Off, then remove and visually check fuse.
b. If fuse is blown, replace it with a new one. Turn ignition switch On, if fuse flows again, proceed to step 2.
2. Inspect body harness (bulk head instrument harness) as follows:
a. Turn ignition switch On. Ensure other warning lights, in combination meter, illuminate.
b. If lights do not illuminate, check body harness.
3. Inspect airbag warning light unit as follows:
a. On SVX models, turn ignition switch Off, then disconnect bulk harness connector B58 from connector AB1.
b. On Legacy and Impreza models, turn ignition switch Off, then disconnect bulk harness connector B140 from connector AB1.
c. On all models, turn ignition switch On. Ensure airbag warning light illuminates.
d. If light does not illuminate, replace airbag warning light unit.
4. On SVX models, inspect airbag main harness as follows:
a. Turn ignition switch Off, then disconnect bulk harness connector B58 and connector AB1. Leave connector disconnected for at least 10 minutes.
b. Disconnect connector AB3 and AB8 at harness spool, then connector AB6 from airbag control unit.
c. Turn ignition switch On. Ensure airbag warning light illuminates.
5. On Legacy and Impreza models, inspect airbag main harness as follows:
a. Turn ignition switch Off, then disconnect bulk harness connector B140 and connector AB1. Leave connector disconnected for at least 10 minutes.
b. Disconnect connector AB3 and AB8 below steering column, then connector AB6 from airbag control unit.
c. Turn ignition switch On. Ensure airbag warning light illuminates.
