Restraint System

1. Inspect front sensor and harness as follows:
a. Disconnect connectors AB4 and AB5 from airbag control unit.
b. Connect connectors AB4 and AB5 to 8B of test harness B.
c. For RH front sensor, measure resistance between connector 5B terminals 17 and 18. Resistance should be 14000-16000 ohms.
d. For LH front sensor, measure resistance between connector 5B terminals 15 and 16. Resistance should be 14000-16000 ohms.
e. For RH front sensor, measure resistance between connector 5B terminal 17 and ground, then terminal 18 and ground. Resistance should be 200 ohms minimum.
f. For LH front sensor, measure resistance between connector 5B terminal 15 and ground, then terminal 16 and ground. Resistance should be 200 ohms minimum.
2. Remove airbag module, then check harness for damage.
3. Inspect airbag main harness as follows:
a. Disconnect connector AB6 from airbag control unit, then connect AB6 to 8B of test harness B.
b. Measure resistance between connector 5B terminal 1 and ground, then terminal 14 and ground. Resistance should be 200 ohms minimum.
3. Inspect roll connector as follows:
a. On SVX models, remove airbag module, then disconnect connector AB3 and AB8 at harness spool.
b. On Legacy and Impreza models, remove airbag module, then disconnect connector AB3 and AB8 below steering column.
c. On all models, connect AB7 to 1C of test harness C.
d. Measure resistance between 3C terminal 1 and ground. Resistance should be 200 ohms minimum.
e. Measure resistance between 3C terminal 3 and ground. Resistance should be 200 ohms minimum.
f. Measure resistance between 3C terminal 4 and ground. Resistance should be 200 ohms minimum.
