Instrument Cluster / Carrier: Service and Repair

1. On models with airbags, disarm airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
2. On all models, disconnect negative battery cable.
3. Loosen steering column to instrument panel retaining bolts and suspend the steering column.
4. Remove visor ventilation grille.
5. Remove and disconnect all switches necessary to facilitate cluster removal.
6. Remove cup holder and visor.
7. Remove combination meter retaining screws.
8. Pull meter out from dash panel enough to disconnect speedometer and connector, then tilt combination meter and remove from instrument panel.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
