SUBJECT: MODIFIED EXHAUST COVER SETS


This bulletin is to clarify information contained in Service Bulletin 09-26-91 dated 01-09-91.

The cover sets described in Bulletin 09-26-91 are to be used as field fix parts for exhaust system noises generated through shield interference. The cover sets can also be used to repair shield damage caused by contact with road hazards, etc.; however, this type of damage is not reimbursable under warranty.

These modified shields are installed as original equipment on replacement parts with the following part numbers. The modified shields were installed on production vehicles starting with:

The warranty coverage for exhaust noise generated by shield interference on replacement parts is for 12 months, unlimited mileage, using the cover sets. Original equipment warranty is three years, 36,000 miles for 1989 and later vehicles.
