Suspension - Pop Noise When Turning

FRONT END "POP" NOISE



If you encounter a customer complaint of a noise coming from the front end when turning, (similar to a small stone hitting the floor pan), pivoting front stabilizer bar bushing clamps may be the cause. Use the following information to adjust the clamps:

^ Remove both right and left bushing clamps. Use Section 4-1 of the applicable Legacy Service Manual.





^ Bend the tab hook approximately 3/16". See Figure 1.

^ Coat the underside of the hook with anti-seize compound.

^ Re-install in reverse order of disassembly.



NOTE:
A similar production change was made in July, 1992 for FHI-manufactured and September, 1992 for SIA-manufactured Legacy models.
