ALL LEGACY MODELS EQUIPPED WITH 40 AND 80 WATT STEREO ETR RADIOS WITH AN "AUX" INPUT JACK

SUBJECT: THE USE OF PORTABLE COMPACT DISC PLAYERS WITH THE FACTORY ETR RADIO

THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES 15-74-89 DATED 08-07-89.

To ensure proper CD/radio performance, a non-resistor patch cord which links the CD player to the ETR radio via the "aux" input jack must be used. This miniature plug stereo cord must be a zero OHM type. No internal resistor(s). The "aux" jack must receive an output signal from the CD player with a minimum of 400 MV to produce the 10K OHM radio minimum input impedance for the ETR radio circuitry to recognize the audio signal.

NOTE: If the customer Is attempting to hook-up a "Sony Discman", the Owner's Manual for Sony portable CD player recommends using patch cord "RK-G134" made by Sony. However, this cord is a resistor type (600 OHM) which will limit the volume and overall performance of the system and should not be used. A non-resistor patch cord, available from any electronics store, will deliver maximum performance.
