This bulletin is for information purposes only.

We have found some enhancements which will improve the installation and function of Loyale and Legacy security systems.

Included are the revised supplemental instruction sheets which will be included with future kit instructions.

PROCEDURE
To update SOA386R100 Security System for use on Loyale vehicles, replace the section titled All Sedans, Station Wagons, & 3-Door Connections, item # 8 Dome Light, with the following instructions.

8. Dome Light

1. Temporarily remove the glove box.

2. Locate the # 20 BLACK/RED wire found in the (i65) white connector, see figure.

3. Route the # 22 BLACK/WHITE wire from the Security System wiring harness under the steering column, across the dash, behind the radio, and in front of the A/C evaporator (if equipped).

4. Using a RED crimp lock provided, crimp the # 22 BLACK/WHITE wire to the # 20 BLACK/RED wire from the body side wiring.

5. Re-install the glove box.

PROCEDURE
To update SOA386R110 Security System for use on Legacy vehicles, replace the sections 2. Module Mounting, and 3. Wire Harness Routing, with the following instructions.

2. Module mounting
1. Loosen, do not remove, the bolt with a 12 mm head located on the passenger's side of the steering column above the gas pedal.

2. Carefully slide the Security System module/Bracket assembly into position on the bolt. Be sure the bracket slides under the washer. Torque the bolt to 10 to 15 ft.lb.

NOTE:
Automatic transmission equipped vehicles may require relocation of the shift lock unit P/N 88083AA030 located above the gas pedal in the general area of the Module mounting.

1. Loosen the bolt with a 12 mm head securing the shift lock unit (P/N 88083AA030)

2. Carefully rotate the shift lock unit 90 degrees, as shown in the illustration, so the unit is parallel lengthwise to the firewall. Be sure the shift lock unit wiring harness is free to move.

3. Torque the bolt to 10 to 15 ft.lb. Allow the unit to seek a natural position for the harness.

3. Wire Harness routing

1. Route the Security System harness over the steering column beginning from the driver's side, moving to the passenger's side. Be careful to route the harness away from the brake and clutch pedal mechanisms.

2. Secure the BLACK wires with the eyelet terminal end under the 12 mm head bolt used to secure the Module/Bracket assembly.

3. Connect the 16 pin connector to the module.

Station Wagon Models

1. Temporarily remove the glove box.

2. Temporarily remove the passengers side kick pad.

3. Locate the YELLOW/BLACK wire found in the (R4) white connector, see figure.

4. Route the YELLOW/BLUE wire from the Security System wiring harness over the steering column, across the dash, behind the radio, and in front of the A/C evaporator.

5. Using a RED crimp lock provided, crimp the YELLOW/BLACK wire to the YELLOW/BLUE wire from the body side wiring.

6. Re-install the glove box.

7. Re-install the kick pad.
