APPLICABILITY: 1990 and 1991 MY Loyale Models Equipped with a 3AT

SUBJECT: 3 Speed Automatic Transmission (3AT) Shift Linkage Adjustment


Subaru of America has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in some 1990 and 1991 MY Loyale Models.

The defect results in the automatic transmission park mechanism not staying engaged due to an incorrect adjustment of the transmission shift linkage.

To prevent this potential condition from occurring, it is necessary to adjust the transmission shift linkage to the proper specification. Please refer to the detailed information in the Service Procedure.
