Inhibitor Switch Testing (a):

Inhibitor Switch Testing (b):

CHECK INHIBITOR SWITCH

1. Separate cable end from range select lever.
2. With a circuit tester, check for continuity at the inhibitor switch connectors for ranges "P," "R," "N," "D," "3" and "2."
3. Check that continuity in the ignition circuit does not exist when selector lever is in "R," "D," "3" and "2" ranges. Pin "8" is to the starter motor and pin "9" is to the ignition switch.

Inhibitor Switch Adjustment:

4. Check for continuity at equal points when the select lever is moved 1.5° in each direction from "N" range.
5. If not, adjust inhibitor switch.

Inhibitor Switch Adjustment:

ADJUST INHIBITOR SWITCH

1. Loosen three inhibitor switch securing bolts.
2. Shift select lever to "N" range.
3. Insert stopper pin (499267300) as vertical as possible into the holes in inhibitor switch lever and switch body.
4. Tighten three bolts to 2.0-2.5 Nm (1.4-1.9 ftlb).
5. Repeat the previous tests. If switch still checks faulty, replace it.
