Fig. 1 Parking Brake Adjustment:

1. Pull parking brake lever three to five times. On all except Legacy, mechanism should click six to seven times when a force of 55 lbs. is exerted on the lever. On Legacy, mechanism should click seven to eight times when a force of 44 lbs. is exerted on the lever.
2. On all except Justy and Legacy, if lever operation is not as specified, rotate the equalizer cable adjustment nut until play at ``A'' in Fig. 1 is set at 0-.02 inch (0-.5mm).
3. On Justy, if lever operation is not as specified, adjust lever stroke at parking brake rod until wheels drag slightly.
4. On Legacy, if lever operation is not proper, remove console cover, then tighten adjuster nut until lever movement is as specified in step 1.
5. On all models, tighten adjuster locknut.
6. On Legacy, ensure rear brakes do not drag.
