Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect ground cable from battery.
2. Turn ignition switch Off, then wait for at least 10 minutes before starting work.
3. Remove lower cover and lower cover panel, then disconnect airbag connector at harness spool. Do not reconnect airbag connector at spool until airbag control unit is securely reinstalled.
4. Remove console panel and base on driver seat side, then the audio equipment.
5. Disconnect 12 pin yellow, 2 pin blue and 2 pin orange connectors from airbag control unit.
6. Remove two nuts and bolts securing control unit bracket, then the control unit and bracket as an assembly.
7. Using T30 TORX bit, remove control unit from bracket.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Use new TORX bolts when installing.
