Clutch Freeplay

Fig. 1 Clutch Pedal Adjustment:

1. Remove clutch fork return spring.
2. Turn adjusting nut at fork end, Fig. 1, to obtain an endplay of .08-.12 inch (2-3 mm) on all Legacy and 2WD non-turbo models, or .12-.16 inch (3-4 mm) on all other models. When performing adjustment, use care not to twist clutch cable.
3. Check to ensure clutch release lever full stroke measures 1.004-1.063 inch (25.5-27.0 mm) on all Legacy, 2WD turbo and 4WD models, or .67-.71 inch (17-18 mm) on 2WD non-turbo models.
