Fuel Pump: Service and Repair

Fuel Pump:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then raise and support vehicle.
2. Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector from fuel pump.
3. Lower vehicle.
4. To release fuel pressure, start engine and allow to run until in stalls, then crank engine for approximately five seconds and turn ignition switch Off.
5. Disconnect battery ground cable, then raise and support vehicle.
6. Loosen three flange bolts and lower fuel pump bracket.
7. Clamp the middle portion of the thick hose connecting the fuel line to the fuel pump.
8. Disconnect hoses from fuel pump assembly.
9. Remove three pump bracket retaining bolts, then fuel pump together with pump damper assembly from vehicle.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
