Fuel Pump: Service and Repair

Fig. 2 Disconnecting Fuel Pump Electrical Connector:

1. Remove rear seat assembly from vehicle.
2. Remove fuel tank access cover.
3. Disconnect the fuel pump connector.
4. To release fuel pressure, start engine and allow to run until in stalls, then crank engine for approximately five seconds and turn ignition switch Off.
5. Disconnect battery ground cable.
6. Disconnect fuel line hose from pump assembly, then remove fuel pump assembly retaining screws.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
