Ignition Control Module: Description and Operation
PURPOSEThe igniter is ECU controlled with an ignition signal. This allows ignition triggering with a relatively low current signal from the ECU.

On the ignition coil bracket, near the master cylinder,
OPERATION
A signal is sent to the igniter module whenever the engine is running. The signals are an ON/OFF pulse, telling the igniter when to fire the ignition coil.
