Fig. 24 Trouble Code 10 (Faulty Valve Relay):
CHECK VALVE RELAY COIL (ON ABS CONTROL UNIT SIDE)
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect ABS control unit connector.
3. Disassemble connector.
4. Measure resistance between ABS control unit terminals.
Connector & Terminal Specified Resistance:
(P12)No.17-No.27 93 - 113 Ohms
CHECK HYDRAULIC UNIT VALVE RELAY
1. Disconnect connector from hydraulic unit.
2. Measure resistance between hydraulic unit terminals.
Terminal Specified Resistance:
(To F8) No.1 - (To F9) No.8 1 M Ohm min.
CHECK VALVE RELAY AS A SINGLE UNIT
1. Remove valve relay.
2. Attach circuit tester probes to terminals, as shown in Figure.
3. Measure resistance between respective terminals.
Terminal Specified Resistance:
No.87 - 30 0 Ohms (when 12 volts applied)
No.87 - 30 1 M Ohm (when no voltage is applied)
No.87a - 30 1 M Ohm (when 12 volts applied)
No.87. - 30 0 Ohm (when no voltage is applied)
CHECK HYDRAULIC UNIT VALVE RELAY COIL
1. Disconnect connector from hydraulic unit.
2. Measure resistance between hydraulic unit terminals.
Terminal Specified Resistance:
(to F9)No.5-No.7 72 - 88 Ohms
When resistance checks out "Not OK", check relay as a single unit.
3. Disconnect connectors from ABS control unit and hydraulic unit. Measure resistance between connectors.
Connector & Terminal Specified Resistance
(F9) No.5 - (P12) No.17 0 Ohms
(F9) No.7 - (P12) No.27 0 Ohms
(F9) No.5 - Body 1 M Ohm min.
(F9) No.7 - Body 1 M Ohm min.
If resistance checks out "OK", replace hydraulic unit; if "Not OK", repair harness/connector between ABS control unit and hydraulic unit.
CHECK AND REPAIR POWER HARNESS
1. Turn ignition switch ON.
2. Measure resistance between hydraulic unit connector and ground.
Connector & Terminal Specified Voltage:
(F8) No.1 10 - 12 V
