DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND DIAGRAM


1. CHECK OPERATION OF STARTER MOTOR. Turn ignition switch to "ST" to ensure that starter motor functions.

Transmission Connector:

2. CHECK INHIBITOR SWITCH.
1) Turn ignition switch to "OFF".
2) Disconnect transmission connector (813).
3) Measure resistance between transmission connector terminals.

Connector & Terminal/Specified value
(T1) No. 11 - No. 12/0 ohms (P or N range)
(T1) No. 11 - No. 12/1 k ohms min. (other range)

3. CHECK STARTER ASSY.
1) Remove starter ASSY.
(a) Turn ignition switch to "OFF".
(b) Remove battery ground terminal.
(c) Lift up the vehicle, and remove nut which installs lower side of starter.
(d) Lower the vehicle, and disconnect power supply terminal and magnet switch terminal from starter. (5) Remove bolt which installs upper side of starter.
2) Check starter motor performance (draw and speed).


4. CHECK INPUT SIGNAL FOR ECU.
1) Turn ignition switch to "ON".
2) Measure voltage between ECU connector terminal and body while cranking the engine.
