Pressure Regulating Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

MEASURE VOLTAGE SIGNAL FROM TCM

Measuring TCM Voltage Signal Output:

1. Warm up engine and transmission.
2. Ignition switch ON (engine not running).
3. Move shift lever to "N."
4. While opening and closing throttle valve, measure voltage between TCM connector and body.

Connector & Terminal Resistance
(B52) 11 - 13 1.5 - 4.0V (throttle fully closed)
0.5V, maximum (throttle fully open)

Select Monitor Function Mode F11
Condition: Ignition switch ON (engine OFF) N range
Specified data: PLDTY F11
5% (throttle fully open)
100% (throttle fully closed)

CHECK HARNESSES AND CONNECTORS BETWEEN TCM AND DUTY SOLENOID A AND TCM AND RESISTOR

Checking Harnesses And Connectors:

1. Unplug TCM connector.
2. Unplug connector from transmission.
3. Unplug connector from resistor.
4. Measure resistance between TCM connector and transmission, and between TCM connector and body.

Connector & Terminal Resistance
(B52) 11 - (B9) 7 0 Ohms
(B52) 11 - body 1 M Ohms, minimum

Checking Harnesses And Connectors:

5. Measure resistance between TCM connector and resistor connector and between TCM connector and body.

Connector & Terminal Resistance
(B52) 12 - (B1) 1 0 Ohms
(B52) 12 - body 1 M Ohms, minimum

CHECK DUTY SOLENOID A GROUND LINE

Check Duty Solenoid A Ground:

1. Unplug connector from transmission.
2. Measure resistance between transmission connector receptacle (on transmission) and transmission case.

Connector & Terminal Resistance
(T4) 4 - transmission 1 Ohm maximum

CHECK RESISTOR

Check Resistor:

1. Unplug resistor connector.
2. Measure resistance between resistor terminals.

Resistance: 9 - 15 Ohms

CHECK DUTY SOLENOID A

Check Duty Solenoid A:

1. Unplug connector from transmission.
2. Measure resistance between transmission connector receptacle (on transmission) terminals.

Connector & Terminal Resistance
(T4) 7 - 4 2.0 - 4.5 Ohms
