Passenger Side Air Bag Module

1. Disarm SRS as described under Technician Safety Information.
2. Remove rear center console.
3. Pull cup holder upward.
4. Remove shift lever boot or cover from front center console.
5. Remove four front center console cover retaining screws, then the cover.
6. Remove four center console retaining bolts, then the center console.
7. Remove four radio attaching screws.
8. Pull radio assembly outward and disconnect electrical connectors and antenna lead.
9. Remove radio assembly.
10. Remove instrument panel driver side lower cover.
11. Disconnect seat belt timer electrical connector.
12. Remove glove compartment, then the pocket back panel.
13. Remove instrument panel console.
14. Remove steering column retaining bolts, then lower the steering column.
15. Remove retaining screw, then detach hood opening lever from instrument panel.
16. Place temperature switch in maximum cold position and mode switch to defrost position.
17. Disconnect temperature control and mode cables from links.

18. Disconnect instrument panel electrical connectors, Fig. 34, and tag them so they can be installed at proper locations.

19. Remove ten instrument panel attaching nuts and bolts, Fig. 35.
20. Remove front defroster grille, then remove two bolts.
21. Disconnect speedometer cable, then carefully remove instrument panel.
22. Disconnect passenger's air bag electrical connector.

23. Remove four air bag attaching bolts, then carefully remove air bag module, Fig. 30.
24. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Ensure ignition is turned Off.
b. Do not allow harness and connectors to interfere with other components.
c. Tighten air bag attaching bolts to torque listed in Fig. 30.
d. After completing installation, arm SRS as described under Technician Safety Information.
