Fluid - A/T: Service and Repair

Transmission fluid should be changed at 30 months or 30,000 mile intervals.
1. Remove transmission oil pan drain plug, and allow fluid to drain.
2. Install drain plug with gasket, and torque to 16.7-19.5 ft. lbs.
3. First add 2.0 US quarts through transmission dipstick filler tube, check level and then add to upper level. Add approximately 2.6-3.2 US quarts, of Dexron II automatic transmission fluid .
4. Check transmission fluid level as described previously.
