Water Pump: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain cooling system.
2. Disconnect radiator outlet hose, then the radiator fan motor electrical connector.
3. Remove radiator bracket, then the radiator sub fan motor assembly.
4. Remove drive belts, then the timing belt.
5. Remove tensioner adjuster, then the cam angle sensor.
6. Remove left side camshaft pulley, then the left side rear timing belt cover.
7. Remove tensioner bracket, then disconnect radiator and heater hose from water pump.
8. Remove water pump.

9. Reverse procedure to install, tighten water pump bolts in sequence shown in Fig. 68, to specification.
