The SRS consists of a control unit, two front sensors, a safety sensor built into the control unit and driver's and passenger's air bag modules, Fig. 2.

The front sensors are connected in parallel respectively. The front sensors and safety sensor are connected in series, so that the air bag will inflate if at least one front sensor and the safety sensor detect an impact at the same time.
