Fuel Tank Removal and Installation

PRELIMINARY PROCEDURES
1. Release fuel pressure.
2. Drain fuel tank.
3. Remove rear exhaust pipe and muffler.
4. Remove rear differential.
5. Remove rear crossmember.

REMOVAL

#1 - Fuel Filler Hose, #2 - Air Vent Hose:

1. Loosen clamps and remove fuel filler hose (1) and air vent hose (2).

Fuel Lines:

2. Loosen clamps and clips. Disconnect fuel delivery and return hoses.
3. With an assistant holding tank, remove tank strap fasteners.
4. Lower tank.

INSTALLATION

Fuel Tank:

Install in reverse order with the following notes:
^ Torque all fasteners according to the illustration.
^ Install all hoses prior to tightening strap fasteners.
^ Make sure hoses are not kinked, stretched, bunched or twisted.
