TEST 10Q1: CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA
Press [F], [E], [1] and [5] on the scan tool.
CHECK: Is the scan tool LED 5 off? Was the ABS inactive when the problem occurred?
YES: See Test 10Q2
NO: See Test 10Q15
TEST 10Q2: CHECK THE CONDITION WHEN THE TROUBLE OCCURRED
Ask the vehicle owner about driving conditions when the trouble occurred. Attempt to duplicate the conditions.
CHECK: Is the trouble immediately apparent?
YES: See Test 10Q3
NO: See Test 10Q15
TEST 10Q3: CHECK THE CONDITION WHEN THE TROUBLE OCCURRED
CHECK: Did the trouble occur immediately after engine starting or during standing starts?
YES: See Test 10Q11
NO: See Test 10Q4
TEST 10Q4: CHECK SOLENOID VALVE RESISTANCE
1) Turn ignition switch to OFF.
2) Disconnect two connectors (ABS1, F9) from hydraulic unit.
3) Measure resistance between hydraulic unit connector terminals.

Trouble code 31 / (F9) No. 4 & (ABS1) No. 2
Trouble code 33 / (F9) No. 1 & (ABS1) No. 2
Trouble code 35 / (F9) No. 2 & (ABS1) No. 2
Trouble code 37 / (F9) No. 3 & (ABS1) No. 2
CHECK: Is the resistance between 7.8 and 9.2 ohms?
YES: See Test 10Q5
NO: Replace hydraulic unit.
TEST 10Q5: CHECK GROUND SHORT OF SOLENOID VALVE
Measure resistance between hydraulic unit connector and chassis ground.

Trouble code 31 / (F9) No. 4 & Chassis ground
Trouble code 33 / (F9) No. 1 & Chassis ground
Trouble code 35 / (F9) No. 2 & Chassis ground
Trouble code 37 / (F9) No. 3 & Chassis ground
CHECK: Is the resistance more than 1 M ohm?
YES: See Test 10Q6
NO: Replace hydraulic unit.
TEST 10Q6: CHECK GROUND SHORT OF HARNESS
1) Disconnect connector from ABS Control Module (ABSCM).
2) Measure resistance between ABSCM connector and chassis ground.

Trouble code 33 / (F49) No. 24 & Chassis ground
Trouble code 35 / (F49) No. 23 & Chassis ground

CHECK: Is the resistance more than 1 M ohm?
YES: See Test 10Q7
NO: Repair harness between ABSCM and hydraulic unit.
TEST 1OQ7: CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN ABSCM AND HYDRAULIC UNIT
1) Connect connector to hydraulic unit.
2) Measure resistance between ABS Control Module (ABSCM) connector terminals.
Connector & terminal:
Trouble code 31 / (F49) No. 30 & No. 1
Trouble code 33 / (F49) No. 24 & No. 1
Trouble code 35 / (F49) No. 23 & No. 1
Trouble code 37 / (F49) No. 31 & No. 1
CHECK: Is the resistance between 8.3 and 9.7 ohms?
YES: See Test 10Q8
NO: Repair harness/connector between ABSCM and hydraulic unit.
TEST 10Q8: CHECK FOR POOR CONTACT IN CONNECTORS
CHECK: Is there poor contact in connectors between ABS Control Module (ABSCM) and hydraulic unit?
YES: Repair connector.
NO: See Test 10Q9
TEST 10Q9: CHECK ABSCM
1) Connect all connectors.
2) Erase the memory.
3) Perform inspection mode.
4) Read out the trouble code.
CHECK: Is the same trouble code as in the current diagnosis still being output?
YES: Replace ABS Control Module (ABSCM).
NO: See Test 10Q10
TEST 10Q10: CHECK FOR ANY OTHER TROUBLE CODES
CHECK: Are other trouble codes being output?
YES: Proceed with the diagnosis corresponding to the trouble code.
NO: A temporary poor contact is indicated.
TEST 10Q11: CHECK BATTERY SHORT OF SOLENOID VALVE
1) Turn ignition switch to OFF.
2) Disconnect two connectors (ABS1, F9) from hydraulic unit.
3) Disconnect connector from ABS Control Module (ABSCM).
4) Turn ignition switch to ON.
5) Measure voltage between hydraulic unit connector and chassis ground.

Trouble code 33 / (F9) No. 1 (+) & Chassis ground (-)

TEST 10Q15: CHECK SOLENOID VALVE RESISTANCE
1) Turn ignition switch to OFF.
2) Disconnect two connectors (ABS1, F9) from hydraulic unit.
3) Measure resistance between hydraulic unit connector terminals.

3) Measure voltage between hydraulic unit connector and chassis ground.
