Fillpipe Restrictor: Service and Repair
Release fuel pressureDRAIN FUEL TANK
1. Remove rear seat back and bottom.
Fuel Pump Access Cover:
2. Remove access cover.
#1 - Fuel Delivery Hose, #2 - Fuel Return Hose:
3. Disconnect fuel delivery (#1) and return (#2) hoses.
Fuel Pump Fasteners:
4. Remove fuel pump assembly nuts.
Fuel Pump (Removed):
5. Lift the fuel pump assembly out of the fuel tank.
Draining Fuel Tank:
6. Drain fuel into container using a hand pump.
REMOVAL
1. Remove R.R. wheel.
Fuel Filler:
2. Remove fuel filler cap.
3. Remove screws holding packing in place.
Fuel Filler Pipe Protector:
4. Remove fuel filler pipe protector.
5. Remove clip and separate air vent hose from pipe.
#1 Fuel Filler Pipe Clamp - #2 Air Vent Pipe Clamp:
6. Loosen clamp and separate filler hose from pipe. (#1 filler hose, #2 vent hose)
7. Remove fuel filler pipe from underside of vehicle.
INSTALLATION
#1 Fuel Filler Pipe Clamp - #2 Air Vent Pipe Clamp:
1. Set saucer (#1) with rubber packing (#3), and insert fuel filler pipe into hole from inside fender apron.
2. Align holes in filler pipe with holes in set cup (2) and tighten screws.
3. Install fuel filler hose about 28mm (1 inch) over end of filler pipe and tighten clamp.
4. Install air vent hose about 28mm (1 inch) over end of pipe and tighten clamp.
NOTE: Make sure clamps do not rub on suspension components.
5. Install fuel filler pipe protector.
6. Install R.R. wheel.
Fuel Pump Torque Sequence:
7. Re install fuel pump, access cover, carpet and seats.
Fastener torque: 3 - 6 Nm (2.2 - 4.3 ft lbs)
8. Refill fuel tank.
