Service Procedure

Driver Side Seatbelt Buckle Replacement

1) Protect the carpet, upholstery, and trim from dirt and damage (example: place a clean sock over the shifter knob or handle)

2) Set the parking brake, turn the ignition key to the "ON" position, and place the transmission shifter in neutral.

Important:
Turn the ignition switch back to the "Off" (1) position to assure power at the console area is turned off.





3) Remove and set aside the shifter console cover after disconnecting the cigarette lighter wiring connector. Be careful not to scratch or damage the console cover or console box.

4) Remove the four (4) phillips head screws which attach upper console cover to lower console.

*If applicable, disconnect seat heater switch wiring connector.

5) Unsnap the parking brake lever boot.





6) Remove the upper console. Make sure not to scratch or damage the console cover or console box. Note: Ensure that the metallic trim clips on the underside of the upper console are present and intact for re-installation (see image).

7) Disconnect the center console power outlet wiring connector.

8) Remove the five (5) phillips head screws that secure the lower console to the vehicle floor.





9) Remove the center console.





10) Remove the inner seatbelt buckle bolt (14 mm Hex).

11) To facilitate the following steps, raise seat cushion to its highest position.

12) Untwist the wiring ties under the seat.

13) Disconnect the white seatbelt wiring connector lock tab from the metal retaining plate.





14) Disconnect the white seatbelt wiring connector.

15) Remove the seatbelt buckle.

16) Install the new seatbelt buckle in reverse order.





Be sure to torque seatbelt buckle bolt to proper specification, 30 N-m (3.1 kgf-m, 22 ftlb).

Passenger Side Seatbelt Buckle Replacement

1) Remove the inner seatbelt buckle bolt (14 mm Hex).

2) Remove the seatbelt buckle.

3) Install the new seatbelt buckle in reverse order.

Be sure to torque the seatbelt buckle bolt to the proper specification, 30 N-m (3.1 kgf-m, 22 ft.lb).

Reassemble the center console assembly and ensure the proper function of the seatbelt warning light, the cigarette lighter, the seat heaters (if applicable) and the shift lock mechanism.
