Power Steering Pump Relief Valve
Introduction
If you encounter a vehicle that has a groaning type noise coming from the power steering pump when the wheel is turned to the full right or left position when the vehicle is parked, it may be caused by the relief valve vibrating within the pump. In lieu of replacing the power steering pump, the relief valve is now available as a replacement part.

^ Remove the plug using a 22mm box wrench.
^ Using a pair of tweezers, remove the relief valve. Note: Be careful not to scratch the inside of the pump housing.
^ Install a new relief valve.
^ Confirm that the relief valve moves smoothly by pushing it in and out several times.
^ Install plug and torque to proper specification 30~40 N-m (3.0~4.0 Kgf-m, 22.1~29.5 ft-lb)
^ Reinstall power steering pump; refer to the applicable service manual.
