Items related to that type of condition include the TCM, front and rear vehicle speed sensors, throttle position sensor, ATF temperature sensor, transfer clutch, transfer valve, transfer duty solenoid, ATF deterioration, wiring harness and mismatched tires. If after diagnosing, the transfer valve assembly is at fault and the vehicle's within the following VIN range, use the new part number provided.
PRODUCTION LINE CHANGE
A change was made to the transfer clutch valve assembly to reduce oil pressure vibration. The new style valve has been used in production starting in October, 2003 with transmission number 012485. 2004MY Impreza models have been equipped with the new style valve since the start of production.
