Component Tests and General Diagnostics

Switches and Harness

REMOVAL

BACK-UP LIGHT AND NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH
1. Disconnect ground cable from battery.
2. Remove the air intake duct and cleaner case or the air intake chamber. (Non-TURBO model)
3. Remove the intercooler. (Turbo model)
4. Disconnect the connector of back-up light switch and neutral position switch.

5. Lift-up the vehicle.





6. Remove the back-up light switch and neutral position switch with harness.

INSTALLATION

BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH AND NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH





1. Install the back-up light switch and neutral position switch with harness.
Tightening torque: 32.3 Nm (3.3 kgf-cm, 24 ft. lbs.)
2. Connect the connector of back-up light switch and neutral position switch.
3. Install the air intake duct and cleaner case or the air intake chamber. (Non-TURBO model)
4. Install the intercooler. (Turbo model)
5. Connect the battery ground cable to battery.

INSPECTION

BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH
Inspect the back-up light switch.

NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH
1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
2. Disconnect the connector of neutral position switch.
3. Measure the resistance between neutral position switch terminals.





Non-TURBO model





Turbo model

4. Replace defective parts.
