DTC P2443 SECONDARY AIR INJECTION SYSTEM SWITCHING VALVE STUCK CLOSED (BANK 2)

1. OUTLINE OF DIAGNOSIS
Detect leaks and clogging of the secondary air injection system.
When the secondary air injection system is operating (pump ON, with both left and right combination valves open), close left and right combination valves individually, and detect NG of the secondary air supply pipe pressure and secondary air piping flow.

3. GENERAL DRIVING CYCLE
Perform diagnosis while secondary pump is operating

4. DIAGNOSTIC METHOD
When the secondary air injection system is operating (pump ON, with both left and right combination valves open), close left and right combination valves individually as shown given, and measure secondary air supply pipe pressure and secondary air piping flow. Detect for NG through a pump supply pressure check and flow amount check.

Pump Supply Pressure Check
When the secondary air supply piping pressure during secondary air pump ON is small in comparison to the atmospheric pressure, it is judged as a pump supply pressure NG. If larger, it is judged as OK.




Flow Amount Check
During secondary air system operation (pump ON, left/right combination valve open), make right combination valve closed, --> left combination valve closed, --> right combination valve open --> left combination valve open, and derive the secondary air supply pipe pressure (PSL, P0, PSR), and calculate the secondary air piping flow amount from the amount of pressure. Detect NG from the size of the secondary air piping flow amount.



















Judgment Value
When the following conditions are established, it is judged as NG. if they are not established, the NG is cleared.

5. DTC CLEAR CONDITION
- When the OK idling cycle is completed 40 times in a row
- When "Clear Memory" is performed

6. MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT CLEAR CONDITION
- When the OK driving cycle is completed 3 times in a row
- When "Clear Memory" is performed

7. FAIL SAFE
None

8. ECM OPERATION AT DTC SETTING
- Memorize the freeze frame data. (For test mode $02)
- Memorize the diagnostic value and trouble standard value. (For test mode $06)
