Body - Rattling Noise From The Cargo Area

SUBJECT: Jack Handle Noise

Introduction

If you encounter a customer complaint that there is a rattle type noise coming from the cargo area, the jack handle may be making contact with the canister cover. After verifying, please refer to the repair procedure.

Production Line Change

A countermeasure was made in production in June, 2007 starting with VIN 8*802778.

Part Information

3M Interior Transparent Weather Sealing Tape 2110NA (available at local hardware stores) or an equivalent pressure-sensitive foam tape (1.5 inches by 1.5 inches by 3mm thick).

Repair Procedure/Information





Cut a piece of tape 1.5 inches long and apply to the canister cover. Make sure the area is clean before applying. Make sure tape doesn't extend past the top of the canister cover.





Also check to make sure the cover is secure, if loose secure with glue.
