SUBJECT:
Dash to Door Fit
Introduction
If you encounter a customer complaint that the dash does not line up properly with the door trim panel, use the following repair procedure. Using the procedure will slightly lower the dash panel on the side which is too high.
Repair Procedure/Information
Door trim panel appears slightly lower than the dash.
1) Unclip and remove dash side trim panel.
2) Remove Phillips head screw.
3) To support the dash while drilling, install a piece of wood (1x3 or 1x4) between the upper dash panel and dash support bracket.
Note:
The maximum depth for drilling is the thickness of the plastic; make sure to use a drill stop.
4) Use an 11/64 drill bit. While drilling, carefully lift up on the drill to make the hole oblong, 1/4 inch should be sufficient.
5) Remove the piece of wood.
6) With the help from an assistant, have them push downward on the dash while you reinstall the screw.
7) Reinstall the dash trim plate.
