SUBJECT: Oil Level Gauge and Guide

INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this bulletin is to inform you of a change made to the oil level gauge and guide. On a rare occasion, there is a possibility that the oil level gauge could get damaged if too much force is applied when installing or removing it. As a result, the diameter of the oil level gauge was increased along with the inside diameter of the oil level guide (dip stick tube).

COUNTERMEASURES IN PRODUCTION

The new style oil level gauge and guide was incorporated into production on November 12, 2011 starting with the following VINs and engine number.





PARTS INFORMATION





While individual parts may be used for replacements after the countermeasure, replacement prior to countermeasure must use the following combination.





Forester will require part # 11139AA070 and 15144AA240 to be installed as a set.

Impreza will require part # 11139AA061 and 15144AA240 to be installed as a set.
